On 5 April 2016 the JRC presented the interactive and collaborative online European Energy Efficiency Platform. This beta platform is conceived to fill the gap opened by scattered data and fragmented knowledge resulting from a rapidly growing energy efficiency market. It is expected to be both a one-stop shop for information retrieval and a meeting point for experts to exchange data and reduce redundant activities.
Webinar: Complex Systems and Social Practices in Energy Transitions
Webinar/Conversation with the Authors of "Complex Systems and Social Practices in Energy Transitions - Framing Energy Sustainability in the Time of Renewables".
The webinar has given the participants the opportunity to follow the conversation organised by the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission with some of the authors of the new book on how complex systems and social practice theories reframe the issue of energy sustainability in the time of renewables.
Participants have had also the possibility to enter a chat with the authors and learn about the insights these authors provide on how complex dynamics generated by present socio-technical systems and the on-going transition to renewables will oblige researchers and policy makers to review their ideas concerning energy consumption and energy sustainability.
To find out more about the book, and to browse authors bios and chapters abstracts, please visit its page on our website.
