On 5 April 2016 the JRC presented the interactive and collaborative online European Energy Efficiency Platform. This beta platform is conceived to fill the gap opened by scattered data and fragmented knowledge resulting from a rapidly growing energy efficiency market. It is expected to be both a one-stop shop for information retrieval and a meeting point for experts to exchange data and reduce redundant activities.
The European GreenBuilding Projects...
This document describes some of the projects implemented by GreenBuilding Partners in the period July 201 to August 2012. The projects have been implemented in different types of buildings, such as office buildings, schools, hotels, shopping mall, etc. Both new construction and the refurbishment of existing buildings are covered by the report.
The Covenant of Mayors in Figures 5-...
After the adoption, in 2008, of the EU Climate and Energy Package, the European Commission launched the Covenant of Mayors (CoM) to endorse and support the efforts deployed by local authorities in the implementation of sustainable energy policies. Indeed, local governments play a crucial role in mitigating the effects of climate change, all the more so when considering that 80 % of energy consumption and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions is associated with urban activity.
Proceedings of the 6th International...
This book contains the papers presented at the sixth international conference on Energy Efficiency in Domestic Appliances and Lighting. EEDAL'11 was organised in Copenhagen, Denmark in May 2011.

Within the Project Electric Motor Systems Annex EMSA of the International Energy Agency’s Implementing Agreement 4E (Efficient Electrical End-Use Equipment) a reference guide of successful programs and policies for implementing motor systems efficiency all over the world is developed. The first part consisted of reviewing existing policy instruments with focus on motor systems efficiency in the area of industrial applications.
The European GreenBuilding Programme...
The present report summarizes the result of the GreenBuilding Programme achieved in 2011, in terms of main energy efficiency measures in the buildings and related energy savings. Until December 2011, total 362 Partners have joined it with 586 Partner Buildings. The total savings achieved by the Partners are 506 GWh/year. Nearly 74 GWh/year has been saved in 2011. In 2011 80 new Partners joined the Green Building programme with 117 buildings.
Design of database and econometric...
For the policy makers at national level it is important to know how effective energy policies and measures are, and in particular how much energy has been saved. This is especially important for the European Union Member States which have to contribute towards the EU 2020 energy saving target of 20%. Alongside the evaluation of the energy savings, it is also necessary to collect as much information and knowledge as possible about energy consumption trends and factors influencing energy consumption.
Accelerating the deployment of Solid...
The Joint Research Centre of the European Commission has been contracted a study on the current and future prospects of the Solid State Lighting (SSL) in Europe. This study will be an input to the Digital Agenda for Europe (DG INFSO of the European Commission), which will give policy options to foster the SSL markets in Europe.
The European GreenBuilding Projects...
This document describes some of the projects implemented by GreenBuilding Partners in the period June 2010 to October 2011. The projects have been implemented in different types of buildings, such as office buildings, schools, hotels, shopping mall, etc. Both new construction and the refurbishment of existing buildings are covered by the report.
Energy Efficiency Status Report 2012
This report aims to show the present status of energy consumption in the residential and tertiary sectors in the EU-27 with a special focus on the electricity consumption of main household appliances and equipment. In addition, the report demonstrates the energy efficiency progress and estimates of saving potential of electrical energy in the EU-27 residential and tertiary sectors. The report summarises the most recent policy actions introduced at EU level and also outlines some of the important national policies regarding energy efficiency and energy consumption.
The European GreenLight Programme -...
The scope of the current analysis is to provide an insight into how the programme developed during the assessed period, both in terms of type and scope of new registrations, energy, cost savings and technologies involved. The comparison is based on the previous evaluation reports – the 2000-2008 Report, which represents an assessment of the programme over the period of eight years, and the 2009 Report, which contributed an update for the period of one year. Regular spreadsheet analysis was used for the evaluation.
Public Procurement of LED Lighting in...
The report provides a detailed overview of the current status of Green Public Procurement (GPP) activities in European Union Member States. Based on the analysis of the present situation and future plans in individual countries, recommendations are made for LED specifications.
In many countries, lighting (and LEDs) is still not among the priority product groups covered by the respective Green Public Procurement documents. However, all EU Member States have good practices for the use of LEDs.
LED Projects and Economic Test Cases in...
This report presents the status of existing LED pilot actions in Europe, analysing 106 LED test cases from 17 European countries. Projects from the public and commercial sectors form the focus of the report, with special attention devoted to the economics of LED projects.
Evaluation of Motivation and Barriers...
With the GreenBuilding, GreenLight and Motor Challenge Programmes the European Commission operates voluntarily commitment schemes with the aim to increase energy efficiency in non-residential buildings, nonresidential lighting and motors used in industrial processes. By the end of 2011 the total of more than 1,000 Partners were registered. Every year the achievements of the respective Programmes are analysed in detail and published within Evaluation Reports. These Reports primarily focus on quantitative and technological analysis.
Code of Conduct on Energy Efficiency...
This Code of Conduct sets out the basic principles to be followed by all parties involved in
Uninterruptible Power Systems, operating in the European Community in respect of energy
efficient equipment.
The European GreenLight Programme -...
The goal of substantially improving end-use energy efficiency and promoting the use of renewable energy sources is a key component of the EU energy and environmental policies, shared by all EU Member States. The European Commission Directorate General Energy contributes to this goal through a series of actions under the "Intelligent Energy - Europe" Programme.
