The article introduces the “Resource Efficiency Assessment of Products” (REAPro) method to assess and improve the resource efficiency of Energy Using Products, with a special focus to their end-of-life. The method allows to identify product's hot spots relevant for the following criteria: reusability/recyclability/recoverability (in mass and in terms of environmental impacts); recycled content (in mass and in terms of environmental impacts); use of hazardous substances.

The GreenLight Programme is a voluntary pollution prevention initiative encouraging non-residential electricity consumers (public and private), referred to as Partners, to commit towards the European Commission to install energy-efficient lighting technologiesin their facilities. GreenLight was launched on 7 February 2000. The objective of the GreenLight programme is to reduce the energy consumption from indoor and outdoor lighting throughout Europe, thus reducing polluting emissions and limiting the global warming.
