On 5 April 2016 the JRC presented the interactive and collaborative online European Energy Efficiency Platform. This beta platform is conceived to fill the gap opened by scattered data and fragmented knowledge resulting from a rapidly growing energy efficiency market. It is expected to be both a one-stop shop for information retrieval and a meeting point for experts to exchange data and reduce redundant activities.
Replicable Measures from Sustainable...
This document is aimed to present examples of the measures to local authorities that could be used for Sustainable Urban Demonstration projects (SUDeP)1 in the Eastern Partnership cities (Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus, Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan). The measures are related to the concrete implementation of the actions in line with the Sustainable Energy Action Plan (SEAPs) developed under the of Covenant of Mayors initiative2.
Identification and assessment of...
The article introduces the “Resource Efficiency Assessment of Products” (REAPro) method to assess and improve the resource efficiency of Energy Using Products, with a special focus to their end-of-life. The method allows to identify product's hot spots relevant for the following criteria: reusability/recyclability/recoverability (in mass and in terms of environmental impacts); recycled content (in mass and in terms of environmental impacts); use of hazardous substances.
2014 Status Report on Organic Light...
Organic light emitting diodes (OLED) are promising candidates for general illumination, since they offer the possibility to realize large area light sources which can even be transparent and flexible. The energy-saving potential of OLEDs is similar to that of LEDs, but the two technologies differ in a number of ways. The present report introduces the basics of the OLED technologies and its latest developments. It also describe the emerging markets, industry landscape and standardisation requirements.
2014 Update on the Status of LED market
Light-emitting diodes (LEDs), a type of solid-state lighting (SSL), are revolutionizing the lighting market.

HOW TO DEVELOP A SUSTAINABLE ENERGY...
The Part III of the guidebook has presented a collection of measures to improve energy efficiency and reduce the dependency on fossil fuels by using renewable energies. All measures collected in this chapter have been tested and successfully implemented by several cities in Europe. As the reader will probably notice, each measure has not been described in depth, but rather a collection of references and links to more specific documents from reliable sources are given in each chapter.
HOW TO DEVELOP A SUSTAINABLE ENERGY...
This Guidebook is tailored to the specific needs of the Eastern Partnership and central Asian countries, which are still recovering from economic reform. As such, various specific indicators were calculated for the 11 Newly Independent States and a Business as Usual scenario was developed projecting the growth of their economy, and the increase in CO2 emissions for 2020 as a result of a 'do nothing' stance in terms of policies and the environmental regulations scenario.
HOW TO DEVELOP A SUSTAINABLE ENERGY...
The purpose of the present guidebook is to help the Covenant of Mayors signatories in Eastern Partnership countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Republic of Moldova and Ukraine) and five Central Asian countries (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan) to reach the commitments they have taken by signing the Covenant, and in particular to prepare within the year following their official adhesion a Baseline Emission Inventory (BEI) and a Sustainable Energy Action Plan (SEAP) BEI is a prerequisite to SEAP elaboration, as it will provide k
The European GreenBuilding Projects...
In 2005 the European Commission launched the GreenBuilding Programme (GBP). GreenBuilding is a voluntary programme aiming at improving the energy efficiency of non-residential buildings in Europe on voluntary basis. The programme addresses owners of non-residential buildings to realise cost-effective measures which enhance the energy efficiency of their buildings in one or more technical services. The programme covers both existing and new buildings.
The European GreenBuilding Projects...
This document describes some of the projects implemented by GreenBuilding Partners in the period September 2012 to December 2013. The projects have been implemented in different types of buildings, such as office buildings, schools, hotels, shopping mall, etc. Both new construction and the refurbishment of existing buildings are covered by the report.
The European ESCO Market Report 2013
The current report, which is the 4th in the series, depicts the status of the ESCO markets as of 2013, and the changes since 2010 are investigated. The report starts with some theoretical background, providing a definition for ESCOs and relevant concepts that have been used in the report. This is followed by the listing of key background information in the European context.
The 2013 European GreenLight Programme...
The GreenLight Programme is a voluntary pollution prevention initiative encouraging non-residential electricity consumers (public and private), referred to as Partners, to commit towards the European Commission to install energy-efficient lighting technologiesin their facilities. GreenLight was launched on 7 February 2000. The objective of the GreenLight programme is to reduce the energy consumption from indoor and outdoor lighting throughout Europe, thus reducing polluting emissions and limiting the global warming.
The 2012 European GreenLight Programme...
The GreenLight Programme was a voluntary pollution prevention initiative encouraging non-residential electricity consumers (public and private), referred to as Partners, to commit towards the European Commission to install energy-efficient lighting technologies in their facilities when (1) it is profitable, and (2) lighting quality is maintained or improved. GreenLight was launched on 7 February 2000.
